In this session, Matilda Sandström will explore how integrating female perspectives into the development of HR solutions can lead to more innovative, inclusive, and scientifically robust outcomes. With a background spanning psychometrics, organisational psychology, and Assessment tools, Matilda brings unique insights into how HR assessment tools are built.

Participants will gain an understanding of why gender-balanced design matters in everything from competency modelling to candidate experience, and how subtle design choices can unintentionally amplify bias or limit potential. Matilda will share practical examples from her own work, illustrating how prioritising empathy, collaboration, data transparency, and user-centric research can transform an HR product’s impact.

Matilda Sandström is a licensed psychologist and the founder of Hi Assessments. She has previously worked at Alva Labs, Meritminds, and Aon, and has also volunteered providing trauma treatment for women in violent relationships.
